Syard Evans is the Deputy CEO at Arkansas Support Network, a nonprofit organization that provides community-based supports to individuals with disabilities. She is a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Education and Research at the University of Arkansas. Syard has a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling/Counselor Education from the University of Arkansas, is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and a Licensed Associate Counselor.
Currently, Syard is an Associate Faculty member at the University of Phoenix Arkansas campus, the chair of the Northwest Arkansas ArkSTART council, a coach at CrossFit Fayetteville, an amateur Strongman competitor, and the chair of the Society and Culture department for The Hampton Institute.
Syard has served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Yvonne Richardson Community Center and worked as a member of the Fayetteville Forward Inclusion Committee. She is a founding member of the Northwest Arkansas Disability & Violence Collaborative. Syard also provides private practice counseling services, serves as a contract facilitator providing disability education to law enforcement through Ozark Guidance Center, and volunteers as a lead counselor for Camp Compassion, an annual bereavement camp for children.
